San Diego waterfront ship repair facility and floating dry dock
Austal USA finalized a long-term lease of a 15-acre National City site next to Naval Base San Diego in December 2021, with parent Austal Limited estimating about $80 million for the yard and a new floating dry dock. The facility opened Feb. 13, 2023, with Austal citing over $100 million in upgrades and the dock due to be fully operational by summer 2023.
