FF(X) frigate

Announced in late 2025 as the Constellation replacement, with a notional 50 to 65 ships. In April 2026 the Navy awarded Ingalls a $282.9 million sole-source lead-yard contract for production design and long-lead material; the Navy wants the lead ship in the water by 2028 with earliest delivery in June 2030, and the FY2027 budget projects four ships through FY2031.
