Explorer (T-AGOS-25) class
The first ship was procured in FY2022 and the FY2026 budget requested $612.2 million for the second; the Navy's FY2026 budget shows lead ship delivery in July 2031. GAO reported in June 2025 that functional design was only 12% complete as of October 2024 and no construction start date was set; CBO estimated $900 million per ship versus the Navy's $450 million.
